The Brief
We successfully tendered for the sales and marketing video production tender in 2018. The brief was to produce a number of case study videos promoting their Shared Ownership Scheme, private sales and new developments to a wider audience.
We had numerous meetings with L&Q to gain an understanding of their goals, what the required outcomes of the videos were and the appropriate style and tone to suit L&Q’s target audience. The L&Q brand guidelines ensured we delivered consistently branded video content.
We worked closeley with the L&Q marketing team and were tasked with covering new developments across the South East of England.
The Solution
Participation in the videos was not an inconsiderable commitment from the tenants as we were asking for 3-4 hours of their time. To make the production process as easy and as smooth as possible for the tenants, we suggested that we liaised with them directly. This meant we could thoroughly brief them on what we required and then arrange a convenient day and time to film. Due to work commitments, It soon became apparent that most tenants were only available at weekends, this was not a problem for us and we were happy to accommodate this arrangement.
It was important to fully brief the tenants beforehand so they knew what was expected of them and what was involved in telling their story.
We had a set list of pertinent questions that we asked during the interviews. We then filmed a library of b-roll footage to support the interview content. This included footage of them in and around their property, as well as interiors and exteriors of their homes. We also shot a selection of photographs on the same themes. After we had finished filming at the homes, we then filmed them in and around the development, cycling along the paths, playing with their children in the park etc. To illustrate and highlight the attraction of the location, we would then film a variety of scenes including local landmarks, rivers, shopping options, leisure opportunities etc
The Outcome
After each session we had a considerable amount of collateral that we had to process and deliver.
The interviews were initially edited and submitted to L&Q so they could select the relevant responses. Once we had this feedback these were combined with the b-roll to create the video case studies. We then created a shorter social media edit and also delivered a transcript of the interviews that could be used in a press release.
On top of the videos we created a library of high quality photographs that could be used to illustrate the marketing material.
